Using a mixed methods approach to research, this project gathers quantitative data to explore differences in youth attitudes and behaviour across Europe, as well as employing ethnographic and arts-based participatory research methods to look more closely at youth engagement and innovation. Our methods provide opportunities to engage young people across Europe providing a space for them to set the agenda, document their situations and articulate their needs.
From criminalisation to innovation
We’re examining the ‘innovative potential’ of young people who have been in conflict with authority through criminal, anti-social or transgressive behaviour.
Youth mobilisations of ‘suspect communities’
We’re looking at how communities positioned as ‘suspect’ through the UK government’s ‘Prevent’ agenda respond to this labelling.
